Deputy Commissioner for St. John Ambulance West Wales, Nigel Lewis, told the Observer that the ambulance had met all the demands required of it, and had even been on trial with the Texaco and Elf refineries.
Mr. Lewis explained that the ambulance would provide cover at large 'field-based' events like autograss and horse riding meets as well as providing standby auxiliary services for the Welsh Ambulance Service.
Although the Daewoo was returning to Herefordshire today (Friday), it would be again returning to West Wales later in the year on loan for the National Eisteddfod in St. David's.
"The ambulance has proved a complete success on trial in the area, and it is likely that we will acquire one of our own before the year end," Mr. Lewis added.
