A seaside litter pick for Saundersfoot saw a fabulous effort from 40+ volunteers ahead of the Wales vs England Six Nations match on Saturday.
Saundersfoot’s county councillor for the south ward Cllr Chris Williams has encouraged those taking part to wear Welsh attire to mark the occasion, with bowsl of homemade cawl and Welsh cakes served at the Regency Hall to those that joined in.
Groups were given certain areas of the village to concentrate on before setting off that morning.
Such was the amount of litter and rubbish collected, former county councillor for the village, Phil Baker even had to call in the Pembrokeshire County Council’s refuse collection team to take the haul away!

Some of the items collected included a bike, a motor, car bumper, two steering wheels, three broken wing mirrors, a sack of debris netting, a set of car mats, three heavy duty metal chain locks, a wellington boot, a pair of high heels and a grill pan - as well as 39 sacks of the usual litter, bottles and cans, and of course duscarded cigarette butts.
Thanks goes to Tenby Leisure Centre for loaning equipment from their Keep Wales Tidy Litter Hub, the Regency Hall, Saundersfoot kitchen ladies, Chris and Julie Williams Saundersfoot Chamber for Tourism, and Saundersfoot in Bloom.
