The Tenby Harbour arena was again the setting for the Tenby and Saundersfoot Lions Club Annual Paella Festival recently, at the start of a series of local charitable events in the town. A record number of spectators contributed to making this event, now in its fourth year, together with good weather, good music and great food, one of the most successful in the club's calendar. Four giant paellas were cooked and consumed by a hungry crowd and sold out by 7.45 pm. Sorry to those who were disappointed and went home hungry, but plans are in hand for another big panful next year. A variety of local musical talent entertained the crowd throughout the day, with Laurie Dale, D. C. Rees, Noel West, Johnny Prophet and Elephant Gerald and Rob's Disco all contributing to making the event so successful. All proceeds raised will go to local Lions charities and the club would like to thank everyone who turned up and took part. They look forward to seeing you all next year, and wish to thank the following for all their help and support for this event: Radio Pembrokeshire; Legion of Frontiersmen of the Commonwealth; Skelfayre; Four Seasons; Pembrokeshire Foods; Texaco; D. Fecci and Sons; Llanion Signs; J.B.H.S.; Tenby Sea Cadets; Tenby A.T.C. 1284 Squadron; Somerfield Stores; staff at the Giltar Hotel; Tenby Sailing Club and staff; Tenby Harbour cafe and staff; Alison Hope, face-painting; Ellie and Jason Lloyd, balloons; Mathew Broadhurst, Bruce Campbell and Noel West.
