Last Friday the ‘Friends of Tenby Museum’ held an Art Auction in support of the museum which raised over £6,000.
There was a lot of interest shown both on the night and with sealed bids left at the museum and on-line with bids also coming from abroad.
The Friends would like to thank all the artists that contributed and everyone that bought items.
The auctioneer for the night was Guy Manning who did a wonderful job. The photo shows a hand tinted etching by the international artist and printmaker Graham Clarke which alone raised over £1,500.00.
All proceeds raised goes to the Tenby Museum and Art Gallery which is the oldest independent museum in Wales.
It has a permanent art collection, local geology, biology, archaeology and maritime artefacts.
‘Friends of Tenby Museum’ are always looking for new members to join, with money raised from membership subscriptions used to contribute towards conservation of paintings, historical artefacts, building maintenance, and updating IT equipment.
Membership gives you free entry to the museum, invitation to private views, reduced price to events where an admission is charged and 10 per cent of purchases in the museum shop.
You can find a Membership Application Form either at the museum (open Thursday to Saturday), or on the museum website at: www.tenbymuseum.org.uk
