TWO young pianists from St. Teilos RC School, Tenby, Sabrina and Elizabeth Morgan, had outstanding success at this year's AFYM 2014 Festival in Swansea.
Sabrina, aged 10, came first in class with a gold medal in the 15 years and under class with her interpretation of Nocturne Op.19 Nr.4 by Tchaikovsky. She also gained a silver medal for 'Nocturne No12' by John Field.
Sabrina was awarded a merit in the under 19 years-old Senior Piano Recital for her repertoire which included 'Planet Earth' by Karen Tanaka and 'Etude Opus 1 No9' by Franz Liszt.
Elizabeth, aged seven, who has only recently started learning the piano, gained a merit in the Grade 1 class where she performed the 'Merry Bagpipe' by Elias Davidsson.
Both Sabrina and Elizabeth are students of Jan Hartzell from Saunderfoot.
Last December, Sabrina earned a place in 'The Young Musician of Dyfed' final at Rhosygilwen with a work by Franz Liszt.
The finals take place in April. Sabrina is the youngest pianist ever to reach the finals of this prestigious Welsh three counties event.
