THIS year is the 10th anniversary of Seren School of Irish dance and a very successful year it has been so far.
In May this year, they had 17 dancers qualifying for the Irish Opens in Dublin, with most of them coming back with trophies or medals.
Moving on to this month, Kristian Westmacott ventured off with his dance teacher Lizzie Desforges to try his luck at the World Championships in Killarney, Ireland.
It was the second time for 17-year-old Kristian to qualify, but the first time to dance because unfortunately six weeks before he was due to compete last year, he had a dance accident which resulted in a broken foot and prevented him from dancing.
He has spent the last two years dedicating most of his spare time to prepare and we are happy to report that he came back with the trophy for fourth place.
He was thrilled and would like to say thanks to his amazing teachers, Lizzie, who supported him and accompanied him to Ireland, and her sister Cheryl John, who opened the school and taught him his first step, and Jasmin Hicks, who became a teacher at the school nearly two years ago.
Kristian, son of Richard and Arleen Westmacott, of Tenby, has been dancing at the school since it first opened 10 years ago and said that the support has been fantastic. He also thanks everyone for all their kind messages.
