The British Autograss Series Round, held recently at the neighbouring West Wales League track at Lamphey, brought many good results for Pembroke Haven and District (PHD) drivers, with both Steve Lindsay (Tenby) in class 9 and Neyland's Donna Forrest (Ladies Class 2), leading their class in the British series after great results in their heats and both picking up fine second place trophies in their finals. Also having very successful weekends and winning trophies in their finals were Helen James (Freystrop) third in her Class 1 Mini, and Gareth Paines (Neyland) who brought his Twin Motor bike engined Yamaha Powered Mini home to a fine fourth place in the super saloon Class 7 final. There was also many drivers unlucky to miss out after reaching their class finals against the top cars in the country, Mark Uka (Pembroke) was in a trophy winning position in Class 2 until he picked up the dreaded black flag (disqualification) and the same fate fell to Meurig Davies (St. Clears) in his Class 1 final, and Narberth's Norman Mason had led the first run of the Class 7 final, and in the re-run of the race, he spectacularly rolled his twin engined Suzuki Powered Saxo to put an end to his weekend. PHD were also well represented in their class finals by Sharon Powell (Pembroke Dock) and Daphne Mousley (St. Clears) in Ladies Class 1, and Hiefena James (St. Clears) in Ladies Class 7, and there was also some great performances from the PHD Juniors with Luke Jenkins (Fishguard) coming through a large entry to make the B final. You can see these drivers and many more in action this Sunday (July 10) when the South Wales League hold a race meeting at Castle Lloyd Farm, near Red Roses (11.30 am start).
