Success follows success at 1574 (Pembroke) Sqn. ATC in Pembroke Dock. Recently Sian Nevatte was appointed as Lord Lieutenant's Cadet for Dyfed and she has also been promoted to Cadet Warrant Officer, but most recently at a presentation in Ammanford, Sian was awarded the honour of being No. 3 Welsh Wing Best Female Cadet, and representative for the Dacre Brooch, which is given to the best female cadet in the corps. Success also came to 1574 Sqn. when they won the RAF Careers Office Inter Squadron Quiz with a team consisting of Flt. Lt. R. M. Davies (Sqn. Commanding Officer); CWO Sian Nevatte; Cadet Sgt. Clare Sunter; Cadet Sgt. Geraint Jones and Corporal Daryl Page. The team won a digital camera for their squadron, as well as gift vouchers for the team. On the sporting front, Corporal Daryl Page and Corporal Byron Jenkins were awarded their Regional Blues for representing the Wales and West of England Region at junior rugby at DCAE Cosford, where they played against the other five regions in the Air Training Corps. CWO Sian Nevatte and Cadet Sergeant Clare Sunter also travelled to Cosford to play senior hockey for No. 3 Welsh Wing ATC. Sian was the captain of No. 3 Welsh Wing team. Recently, Cadet Simon Donohoe was promoted to the rank of Cadet Corporal and Flt. Sgt. Vaughan Holding and Corporal James Sherman were awarded certificates from the Institute of Leadership Management, at Level 2 Team Leading. Civilian instructor Wayne Sunter, Cadet Flt. Sgt. Holding and Cadet Sgt. Sunter have undertaken training with the Wales and West Small Arms Training Team to coach cadets in the use of the No. 8, .22 rifle. Pilot Officer Chris Jones has also qualified as a range officer.
