Kilgetty Under 8s travelled to Aberystwyth for the 25th Welsh International Super Cup on July 29 and 30.

The standard of football was very high and 12 minutes each-way on big pitches against county and academy opposition was going to be the toughest test these 11 boys had ever faced!

Kilgetty started off on Wednesday by losing 3-1 to South Cerdigion, before beating Aber Celts 8-0, and finally losing 2-1 to Wrexham Development Dragons.

The boys went back on Thursday, and beat Llanilar 2-0 before drawing 1-1 with Wrexham Development Centre.

These results meant a place in the Challenge Cup Final, and with the best performance of their lives, Kilgetty thrashed Wrexham 4-0, to win the Challenge Cup.

The 11 heroes were Zac Rowell, Oliver Gamble, Oliver Griffin, Oliver Wheeler, Ben Harris, Ryan Scourfield, Dylan Davies, John Mansbridge, Tom Mansbridge, Luke Fearne, and Jacob Miles.

The team trains throughout the summer on a Wednesday evening between 6.30 and 7.30 pm and if you are aged eight you are welcome to go to Kilgetty. Thanks to all of the families who were there to support them.
