LOCAL company TidyLike Records have, for the second time, joined forces with Pembrokeshire College students studying on the national diploma in media production course. The result is an interactive DVD of 15 of the area's finest bands strutting their stuff on the stage of the Queen's Hall in Narberth.
The students' brief was to devise and produce an exciting showcase of the local talent.
TidyLike co-ordinator Robin Benson said of the polished and professional looking DVD: "We will be extremely proud to display the DVD to a wide industry audience.
"We salute the amazing technical talents and professional manner in which the media production students conducted themselves throughout."
The commercial project is an important part of the students' learning experience in media production. Money to produce the interactive DVD came from the college's enterprise fund.
"We really enjoyed the chance to show our skills and it will benefit us professionally in the future," enthused Jon Gau, one of the students involved in the project.
Course tutor Chris Rees elaborated: "The students worked in a truly professional and focused manner throughout this three-month project, from using five cameras at each of the three gigs, to editing, to designing the cover and DVD authoring.
"The DVDs will be really useful for students to use at interviews to progress to higher level courses or to gain employment."
A launch party was held at the Queen's Hall on Saturday, when some of the bands which had been filmed were playing.
