Kyle Carlisle from Milford Haven School recently received the Choices Student Chef of the Year 2010 Award.

He is currently attending the PRP 14-16 Choices Project in which he is released from school one day a week to attend the catering course delivered by course tutor and vocational training manager, Jamie Bessant, at the Tudor Lodge Academy, Jameston.

Kyle won this award due to his hard work and commitment throughout the year. He has also achieved the following qualifications in only just one school year: City and Guilds Food Studies Entry Level 2; OCR National Skills Profile in Catering; BIIAB Level 1 Award in Customer and Drinks Service; RSPH Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering; RSPH Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace; BIIAB Level 1 Award in Essentials of Catering.

Obtaining this amount of qualifications in one school year is quite an achievement; this has given Kyle the foundations to assist him ready for his Level 1 qualification which he will follow again with PRP Training in September when he returns from his summer holidays.
