Students from the Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire area interested in tourism marketing have been given the chance of a financial boost. The Ian Bell Foundation Award, with a bursary of £1,000, will be awarded to a student who in the opinion of the panel of judges submits the best dissertation on how the bursary will assist them in their career progression. To qualify, the applicant should be interested in 'the marketing of tourism' and studying (or has been accepted to study) at a UK college or university at HND/degree or post graduate level. Entry requirements are as follows: • A dissertation of 1,000 words indicating how the bursary will assist in their career progression. • Applicants need to display a focused attitude, have direction and long term aims which will contribute to the marketing of Wales. • Up to three character/career references to accompany the application. • The application form and dissertation should be completed and returned together by October 30, 2005, to Lorna Greasley, Castlemead Hotel, Manorbier. Application forms are also available from this address. The entries will be judged by the administrators of the Foundation Trust who will select a shortlist to be interviewed as soon as feasible.
