The owner of a stretch limousine company based in Sageston has been ordered to pay £475 fines and costs by magistrates, after pleading guilty to operating an unlicensed vehicle and driver. Andrew Ellis, of 'Stretched to the Limit Limousines', which since the date of the offences has folded, appeared before Haverfordwest Magistrates Court, on Tuesday, in a prosecution brought by Pembrokeshire County Council. Ellis, of 8 Perrot's Road, Sageston, also admitted an offence under the Licensing Act of possessing alcohol with intent to sell by retail, without the necessary authorisation. Haverfordwest magistrates fined him £250 for operating an unlicensed vehicle, with no separate penalty for the offences of having an unlicensed vehicle and operating with an unlicensed driver. He was fined £75 for the Licensing Act offence. Costs were awarded to Pembrokeshire County Council of £150. Speaking after the case, Gareth Watts, pollution control and licensing manager, said: "We would remind all speciality vehicle proprietors that they require licensing from either the county council or VOSA, and to make contact with those organisations at an early stage before trading."
