Tenby councillor Mrs. Christine Brown has revealed that the street cleansing partnership formed with Pembrokeshire County Council back in April, is temporarily out of Tenby Town Council's hands. The scheme was launched with a view to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of services in the town, with the county council's street cleansing workforce joining forces with town council gardens staff to create a 'caring for Tenby team'. However, at Tuesday night's meeting of the town council, Clr. Mrs. Brown told fellow members that the partnership was temporarily on hold. "Unfortunately, at the moment, we are not involved with the partnership, so I would like to apologise to the people of Tenby who have been directing queries to the town council, that we are temporarily unable to deal with any problems, but will certainly let the public know when the scheme is back under our supervision," she said. Clr. Mrs. Brown added that she hoped that PCC would let them know as soon as possible as to when their involvement would begin again. "We need to know well in advance from PCC what is expected of us in the partnership, so we can start to work out budgeting and contract issues," she stated.
