During the summer school term, Tenby Museum and Art Gallery will be providing story-telling sessions for school groups, based on aspects of the history of the town.

The stories are designed for children between the ages of five and 12 years and will be illustrated with prints, drawings, photographs and objects from the museum's collection.

Young visitors also have an opportunity to explore the various museums galleries, with the aid of special trails.

The story telling sessions are provided free of charge to all Pembrokeshire schools. All children's activities during the summer are kindly sponsored by Texaco.

The stories are: 'The Secret Tunnel' - set in Tudor Tenby, which tells of the escape of young Henry Tudor in 1471; 'A Basket of Oranges' - which explores the lives of Tenby people in 1566, a time when the town was a very busy trading port; and 'Rescue on the Beach' - (also available in the Welsh language) which tells of an incident on the South Beach in 1869 when Tenby was a fashionable holiday resort.

Story-telling sessions are held on Wednesday afternoons, starting at 1 pm. Demand is high and advance booking is essential.
