It's been four months since Wilkinson opened its Pembroke Dock store on Pier Road and business has been booming.
Since opening the store on Wednesday, April 30, over 85,000 customers have been welcomed through the doors, averaging at an astonishing 4,500 shoppers per week.
Staff morale remains high as all temporary staff recruited to assist with the store's official opening have since been offered a permanent position within the company. So far, a total of 79 jobs have been created by Wilkinson in the Pembroke Dock community.
Over the past four months, the store has been keen to get involved with local community projects and has donated over £2,000 supporting a variety of local schemes, including charities, schools and nurseries.
Recently, the Wilkinson Pembroke Dock store made a donation of seeds and flowers to the local Mencap group for its window pot planting project. The store has also been helping out the local choral society musicians, with transport for carrying their instruments.
Store manager, Mike Flynn, commented: "We have had a fantastic four months and have been overwhelmed by the amount of support we have received from local shoppers.
"As an integral part of the community, we are very pleased to have been in a position to help support local causes with a donation of goods and through raising money in store. We are keen to continue our support of local community activities and look forward to working with further schemes over the coming months."
Another deserving local scheme which has received support from Wilkinson Pembroke Dock, is Surflink. Surflink is a registered charity that aims to save life by prevention or rescue from the beaches at Tenby.
The charity regularly runs life-saving courses at its base, aiming to educate both young people and the general public about beach safety.
The scheme received a £500 donation from the store to help promote the activities of Tenby's sea rowers.
