Whitland Store Mart on Saturday saw a smaller entry of cattle forward but, nevertheless, selling to a fast trade with steers averaging £565 and heifers levelling at £466.
Steers sold to a top price of £1,030 for a Limousin from Rees, Avola Farm, Red Roses and heifers peaked at £752 for a Belgian Blue from Roberts, Parke, Henllan Amgoed, Whitland.
A good entry of grazing cows on offer sold to an average price per kilo of 78.18p or the equivalent of £446 per head. Top price per kilo included 114p for a 630 kilo Limousin from George, Brynawelon, Mount Pleasant, and a top price per head of £730 for a 770 kilo Hereford from Phillips, Brynglas, Johnstown. Grazing bulls made up to £805 for a 900 kilo Welsh Black from Evans, Coedhirion, Llanddarog, and overage heifers sold to a top price per kilo of 102p for a 500 kilo Hereford from Hooper, Mountain Farm, Cresselly, which equated to £510.
A smaller entry of suckler cows forward sold to £1,030 for a Limousin from Phillips and Sons, Tredafydd Isaf, Pontfaen.
In the sheep section, lambs sold to a top price of £42 from Phillips, Penrose Farm, Cilibion, who also sold at £32. Other leading prices included £34 from Davies, Twllycar, Upper Tumble, who also sold at £31.
