Clr. Roy Llewellyn was re-elected as the chair of Mid and West Wales Fire Authority for the 2013-2014 municipal period at the Fire Authority annual general meeting (AGM) held on June 5.

Clr. Llewellyn said: "It is a great honour to be re-elected as chairman. I am confident that whatever challenges lie ahead, the high calibre of our team of elected members and Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue staff will once again prove more than equal to the task and will continue to serve the people of Mid and West Wales with distinction."

Clr. Llewellyn was first elected as county councillor for Carmarthenshire in May 1989 and has served as a Fire Authority member since 2008. He served as deputy-chair from 2011 to 2012, and was first appointed as chairman of the Fire Authority in 2012. The Fire Authority's re-elected deputy-chair is Clr. Gillian Thomas.
