Sir,

As Simon Hart's campaign manager, Di Clements really should stick to the facts and not try to deceive us about the Assembly Referendum on March 3. (Letters, February 11).

If the break up of Great Britain was imminent I'm sure that we would have heard something from the Queen by now, or read something in the papers. We haven't, because it isn't.

The Referendum on March 3 will simply ask us if we want the Assembly to be able to pass laws in Wales without having to ask permission from MP's in Westminster every time. It is not a dramatic increase in power, rather it is asking us if we want our Assembly to operate effectively and efficiently in the areas it already has responsibility over.

It is a sad state of affairs when our local MP and his team deliberately set out to confuse and deceive us his constituents.

Mark Nicholas,

Tenby.
