Despite defending for most of the first half, the Otters went into the interval with a lead of 14 points as a result of two breakaway tries by centre Steve Martin, both of which were converted by outside-half Aled Davies.
Although Martin scored the first of his three tries after just two minutes, the visitors mounted attack after attack during the first half, but found the Narberth defence impregnable, although the Otters were playing with a new back row line-up.
The opening Narberth try came from a well-judged diagonal kick by Aled Davies. Winger Nick Jones ran on to the ball and then slipped the ball inside for Steve Martin to cross for a try converted by Aled Davies.
Cwmllynfell fullback Peter Thomas missed out on a penalty chance after six minutes, but the moved triggered off a series of attacks by the visitors who were repelled time and time again.
The second breakaway try came after 28 minutes and was a brilliant solo effort by Steve Martin after he had been put in space by Aled Davies. The Cwmllynfell defenders had no answer to the incisive running of Steve Martin and again Aled Davies added the points for the conversion.
The only other chance that Cwmllynfell had to convert pressure into points was a penalty opportunity after 36 minutes, but once again Peter Thomas was off target.
Seven minutes after the interval, Cwmllynfell clawed back three points with a drop-goal by number 10 Steffan Rees, but two minutes later, Aled Davies converted a penalty to restore the Narberth lead to 14 points.
In the second half, the Otters took heed of the half-time pep talk and ran the Cwmllynfell defence ragged with some quite breathtaking running, passing and changes of direction.
Centre Richard Davies opened the try scoring in the second half with a well-worked try in the left corner, converted by Aled Davies, and after 64 minutes, winger Craig Barnett finished off another excellent move with an unconverted try in the left corner.
Minutes later, Steve Martin completed a fine hat-trick with a looped move initiated by a long pass by Aled Davies who was unable to convert the try.
After 73 minutes, Cwmllynfell outside-half Steffan Rees was yellow-carded and the Otters rammed home the advantage of an extra man with two further tries.
Replacement scrum-half Andrew Davies scored the first to complete a brilliant handling movement, which followed a defence-splitting run by replacement winger Matthew Davies. The try was converted by Aled Davies.
The final try came from winger Craig Barnett, his second of the match, to finish off another terrific move with an unconverted try in the left corner.
Speaking after the match, a delighted Narberth director of rugby, Jonathan Dodd, said: "As coaches, we were very pleased with the way we bounced back after the disappointing defeat at Carmarthen. The team responded extremely well and the back play and support work was very good, with the result that some nice tries were scored in the second half.
"This performance was much more of what we are about. We managed to pick up the tempo and pace in the game and to play in the right areas in the second half.
"Outside-half Aled Davies had his best game for a long while, centre Steve Martin and Richard Davies were outstanding in defence and attack and winger Craig Barnett had two extremely well-taken tries.
"In the first half, Cwmllynfell had a lot of possession and we played in the wrong areas, but held out with some good defence. It was a much-improved performance in the second half to play in the right areas and we pressed home the advantage to win.
"It was good to see Matthew Davies back after injury when he came on as a replacement winger, flanker Thabani Sangwani won a lot of ball on the floor and stopped some of their movements in the first half on his debut, lock Chris James was outstanding and young prop Tom Slater played well in his first start of the season.
"The only disappointing note was that the second team match at home to Bonymaen was called off at the request of the visitors as we had a number of first team squad members who were denied the opportunity to play."
Not surprisingly, centre Steve Martin was nominated as the man-of-the-match by the Narberth sponsors.
Jehu West were the Folly Farm Balcony Suite match sponsors in association with Westcoast Carpentry, Simon Fussell Builders, Pembrokeshire Machine Plasterers, Electro Technical Services, Lugsy's Plant and Castle Scaffolding. The Templeton Supporters acted as the Otters Holt match sponsors.
The match ball sponsors were Narberth Former Players' Association, the Landshipping Boys, the Tax Boys, RAOB Kilgetty, Ian Evans and Penry Harries and Brian Murray.
Tomorrow (Saturday), Narberth will be away to Maesteg, who were relegated from the Premiership last season.
Narberth fielded: Siôn Brace (capt.), Nick Jones (Matthew Davies), Steve Martin, Richard Davies, Craig Barnett, Aled Davies, Adrian Killa (Andrew Davies), Ryan Perrott, Dan Smith, Tom Slater (Justin Hughes), Chris James, Jason Jennings (David Ebsworth), Jim Kaumahotoya, Thabani Sangweni (Richard Sharpe- Williams) and Derek Lewis.
