Over 50 members of the Steps2Health group gathered at the Fourcroft Hotel on Saturday to enjoy a sociable get-together and festive meal. Through the windows of the dining room the sun could be seen sparkling on the sea in the December sunshine while inside the tasteful decorations, the crackers and paper hats gave a foretaste of Christmas (writes B.S.).

Twenty-four walkers had joined in the usual weekly walk before settling down to the meal. Not too long a walk, but an invigorating circle taking in South Beach, Castle Hill and harbour, which no doubt sharpened the appetite!

After the meal, Paul Morris presented badges to walkers, many of whom have now done over 100 walks. Champion walker is walks leader Barbara Morris who has clocked up 362 walks, while Sylvia Collier can boast 324 walks.

The walkers then presented Marks and Spencer vouchers to all the walks leaders and Barbara Stredder. Paul also presented Barbara with a lovely cyclamen plant in a bowl for her weekly reports in the Observer.

Tomorrow (Saturday), the walk is from Amroth to Saundersfoot. The Silcox 351 leaves Tenby 10 am. It is suggested drivers park Saundersfoot and pick up the bus there.
