The weather may have been disappointing for Steps2Health on Saturday, but the 30 walkers who braved the rain could still appreciate the glory of Colby Woodlands which were ablaze with the orange of montbreesias lining the pathways (writes B.S.).

Walks leader Janice Tooth warned of the dangers of mud before starting from Amroth car park on the circular walk. The masses of hydrangeas were another breathtaking sight and the weather certainly failed to detract from the beauty of the area.

Nevertheless, it was good to gather in The Bothy Tearoom for refreshments and a social chat, during which time the walkers took the opportunity to make a collection to sponsor Bryony Coates-Rees (daughter of walks leader Val) on her fund-raising swim to Caldey Island, with Olivia Harries.

Tomorrow (Saturday) meet outside Sainsbury's, 10.30 am, for a local walk.
