In addition to the 25 or so Steps2Health walkers who gathered in the rain for the weekly walk on Saturday, there was a representative from Aberystwyth University Ethics Committee for Research Procedures (writes B.S.).

It was very apparent that researcher Martin Jones enjoyed taking part in the town walk on a route planned by walks leader Gill Cole. He could see that this hour of sociable exercise is a very popular part of the Sports Council for Wales' Let's Walk Cymru scheme as he chatted to walkers about their reasons for walking etc.

In fact, Martin is eager to receive any comments from walkers and invites them to contact him by email: [email protected]">[email protected]

The walk ended at Church House, where a wide variety of tempting refreshments were enjoyed before taking a look round St. Mary's Flower Festival.

The 'Symphony of Flowers' needed no musical accompaniment as the sheer inspiration of form and colour in the 36 arrangements made their own music, from the vivid colours of Joseph's Dreamcoat to the translucency of the Pearl Fishers.

Tomorrow (Saturday), the group travel further afield to Haverfordwest. The Silcox 351 bus leaves from outside Sainsbury's 9.40 am. The walk starts from County Hall at approximately 10.45 am.
