It says much for the dedication of the Steps2Health walkers that they turned out in force on Saturday to brave the heavy rain of a dismal November morning (writes B.S.). As walks leader Margaret Lewis led the way past St. Teilo's with its colourful posters inviting us in to their Christmas Fair with its refreshments and Santa's Grotto, she may have felt apprehensive that the walkers would disappear into the warm, dry and welcoming building! But, of course, no such ideas had entered the walkers' heads and, if they had, they were very fleeting and quickly set aside as they followed Margaret along the rain-soaked Esplanade. With the usual good humour and conversation which is such a feature of these walks, we circled our way around the outskirts, across The Green, through Merlins Court, up the Butts Field to The Croft. Some hardy souls crossed the beach, but the majority, after 45 minutes walking, made their way to either Church House to support the coffee morning in aid of St. Mary's Choir, or to St. Teilo's. Tomorrow (Saturday) we cross over into North Pembrokeshire. Drivers meet at Neyland Marina cafe at approximately 11 am. A minibus will leave from outside Somerfield at 10.30 am.
