The Steps2Health walker, Doug Silcox, who enjoyed his five minutes of fame a fortnight ago at Carew Old Control Tower, finds it hard to leave behind the nostalgia of the action packed days of the 1940s! (writes B.S.). But, thankfully, the burrows are no longer mined, and Doug, along with a good crowd of Steps2Health walkers, strode out on Saturday to follow leader Lyn Evans across the golf links path to Penally Station and back along the beach. Bringing up the rear to keep an eye on those who prefer to walk at a slower pace was Margaret Lewis. A coffee morning at Church House provided welcome refreshments and the chance to help Christian Aid. Tomorrow (Saturday) we board the Silcox 352 bus leaving Somerfield at 10.30 am. Alighting at New Hedges, we will walk back to Tenby. All welcome. No charge!
