On Saturday, the Steps2Health walkers exercised not only their bodies, but also their brains (writes B.S.).
Volunteer trained walk leader, Val Coates, is also author of the book 'Explore Tenby's Walls' and so she was able to give us a real insight into the history of our town's fortifications.
It was an even larger group than usual consisting of regulars and holidaymakers who followed Val on this journey into the past. No 'Five Arches' in bygone days. It was just the South West Gate and we were intrigued to see the channel wherein would have fitted the portcullis. Val even provided us each with a little quiz.
It proved to be a very informative and intriguing walk, ending with a sociable coffee at the RAFA coffee morning in Church House. To join us on our walk tomorrow (Saturday) just turn up outside Somerfield for 10.30 am start. It's free and friendly!
