Saturday's walk was probably the longest we have done (writes B.S.). Margaret Lewis made her debut as a trained volunteer walks leader by taking us on a hike for nearer to one-and-a-half-hours. I think the 91-year-old walker was taken on a few short cuts and did hop on the park and ride for the last leg of the walk, but this is the purpose of these walks as they are beneficial for all ages and levels of fitness, and no one is obliged to attempt more than they are happy with. The South Beach provided a good open space after the crowded streets of Tenby and the line of walkers was soon strung out as everyone walked at their own pace. Barbara Morris brought up the rear to make sure no one was in any difficulties or getting left behind. After circling Kiln Park, the Marsh Road and back into Kiln Park, we eventually arrived back in town to enjoy our coffee. Tomorrow (Saturday), we are joining the Steps2Health Pembroke Group for a Pembroke Festival walk around Pembroke Millponds and historic town walls. A minibus will leave from Somerfield at 10.30 am or meet at Tanyard (purple building opposite Common's car park) for an 11 am start. To book a place on the minibus, ring Paul Morris on 07773788173.
