The coffee stop was undoubtedly the highlight of Saturday's Steps2Health Walk (writes B.S.).
It was taken in the most beautiful, colourful and immaculate setting of the prize-winning garden of Tenby in Bloom at 13 Oakridge Acres. We were there by kind invitation of Mrs. Valerie Church. Valerie is one of the regular walkers and we all very much appreciated the hospitality of her and her husband in making us most welcome.
Val Coates, our volunteer trained walk leader, made sure we had our exercise first as she led us across the golf links path and through Kiln Park to the filling station and then along the Marsh Road and through Tudor Way to Oakridge Acres.
It was only the second time this year that rain had fallen during our walk and it was actually pleasantly refreshing after such a hot, dry spell.
But, conveniently, the rain almost miraculously stopped for us to sit out in the garden and enjoy coffee and biscuits amongst the prize-winning flowers.
The walk in the vicinity of Blackpool Mill, originally planned for tomorrow, has now been put back a week to Saturday, August 12.
To join us on a local walk tomorrow, meet outside Somerfield for 10.30 am start.
If you are not able to join us tomorrow (Saturday), but would like to book a seat on the minibus for the following week, ring Paul Morris on 0773 788173.
