Macmillan Cancer Support is excited to bring Walk Wonders - a new UK-wide fund-raising event - to Wales between May 19 and 21.
Sponsored by npower, the event aims to raise £1 million as friends, family, children and pets enjoy a springtime walk in the fresh air, while making lots of money to help people living with cancer.
Macmillan is encouraging everybody to get involved and has provided two easy ways for people to pull on their walking boots, by either hosting a springtime walk close to home or attending an organised walk, such as the two and a half mile.
And hosting a walk couldn't be simpler as Macmillan has set up a Walk Wonders hotline on 0845 602 1490 and has also teamed up with http://www.go4awalk.com">www.go4awalk.com, where hosts can download one of their route maps.
Wendy Smith, national events co-ordinator for Wales, said: "By hosting a Walk Wonders event, friends and family of all ages will not only have a lovely day out exploring, but will also raise lots of money for much-needed cancer care in Wales. Make a day of it, step up, have a picnic and enjoy our wonderful Welsh scenery."
The money raised will have an enormous impact on the lives of people affected by cancer and their families. Unique and vital work, Macmillan.
