Greenhill School's environmental group recently met with Tenby's Mayor, Clr. John Griffiths, to discuss the possibility of taking on the town's railway station as a project. Pupils expressed their desire to try and tidy up and improve the look of the station, which has become an eyesore over the years - an issue that has long been of concern to the town council who have constantly badgered Arriva Trains for improvements to be made. "I talked to the environmental group at the school recently who came up with some good ideas, one of which could see the arts department assist with painting a mural to cover the back of part of the platform," said Mayor, Clr. Griffiths. Problems had arisen at the station, though, with regard to watering any plants put there in an attempt to spruce up the area, as there was no water access and the pupils would be on holiday for six weeks of the summer holiday. Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane suggested that the cadet members of the ATC nearby may also get involved, while she had already discussed ideas with Pembrokeshire County Council's Rhodri Jenkins on ways of improving the station. "We are just going to have to keep nagging Arriva for some assistance on these issues," added the Mayor.
