Sir,

On behalf of the Tenby and County Club committee, I respond to the comment made in a report published on October 15 under the heading Pembs Snooker League.

The report refers to the team now representing Saundersfoot Sports Club which, until recently, was the 'Tenby and County Club' snooker team. The final sentence of the report states that the team were 'forced to relocate to Saundersfoot'. This statement is incorrect.

The reason for the team's relocation is that some of its members are not prepared to pay the club membership fee and consequently are not members. Therefore, by law, they cannot use the premises or represent 'The Tenby and County Club'. The Tenby and County Club is a private members club and as such is required to operate under the terms of the club licence, constitution and rules.

We wish the Saundersfoot Sports and Social Club snooker team every success in the forthcoming season.

Tom Pearce,

Chairman,

Tenby and County Club.
