The Gala Evening at the De Valence Pavilion tonight (Friday) is the place to be for entertainment, music and glamour.

Four young, splendidly talented Welsh musicians are returning to Wales to provide us with a fascinating range of concert items. Jonathan Paulson, pianist of verve and polish, opens the Gala Concert with the lively Fantasy Impromptu by Chopin, setting the scene for a sparkling evening.

Glorious violinist Rakhi Singh, a Bryn Terfil protege and now performing with all the major orchestras, delights with stirring and passionate music, from Gounod to Gershwin.

Petite, pretty Elin Manahan Thomas, Cambridge music scholar, London trained, demonstrates a superb soprano range in excerpts from opera and musicals.

Anthony Stuart Lloyd's baritone has been described as 'a voice of Rolls Royce sumptuousness'. Trained in Cardiff, possessing a wide operatic repertoire, in this prestigious Arts Festival concert, he will perform from Carmen and Mozart and will also include some traditional Welsh items.

Unfortunately, the Latin American dancers originally billed to take part in the show are unable to appear.

Tickets, priced £10, are available from the box office located at the De Valence Pavilion, Upper Frog Street, Tenby, open from 10 am - 1 pm. The Box Office 'phone number during opening hours is 0796 869 3544.
