PEMBROKESHIRE County Council leisure department's annual Adult Lengths Swimming Competition took place at Tenby Leisure Centre during October.
Each swimmer had the challenge to swim the most number of lengths over the month and win free swim tickets.
Stan Burnell won the overall shield by swimming 3,035 lengths - equivalent to 47.5 miles.
The other results were as follows:
Sixteen to 24 years - 1. L. Sutton (250 lengths).
Twenty-five to 34 years - No entries.
Thirty-five to 44 years - 1. M. Goldwait (922 lengths); 2. H. Rooney (266).
Forty-five to 54 years - 1. A. Hare (1,164 lengths); 2. H. Sutton (400).
Fifty-five to 64 years - 1. A. Lesser (910 lengths); 2. H. Morgan (532).
Sixty-five years plus - 1. Aldo Sterlini (812 lengths); 2. E. Vick (208).
Tenby Leisure Centre is participating in the BT Swimathon during March 2003 and entry forms will be available from reception shortly.
