Former members of Stagestruck are invited to the Prince of Wales, Tenby, on Sunday, for the company's curtain call.

The local amateur musical company thrilled audiences throughout the 1990s with hit shows, including Fiddler on the Roof, Oklahoma, Guys and Dolls, Carousel, Hello Dolly, South Pacific, Brigadoon, Pyjama Game, Annie Get Your Gun and Oliver.

However, the company has been on a prolonged sabbatical after having difficulties in replacing key members of their production team.

Now the company has reluctantly decided to bring down the final curtain.

"We have been hanging on in the hope that we would be able to get another show off the ground at some point, but after five years, we have had to admit defeat," said secretary Christine Brown.

"It's a very sad time for us, we had great fun over the years and we hope that we brought a lot of enjoyment to people."

The company has decided to distribute its remaining funds to the Wales Air Ambulance, Tenby Scout and Guide Hall, The Gateway Club and Tenby Talking Newspaper, while all remaining equipment is being donated to the Performing Arts department of The Greenhill School.

The presentation of cheques will be made at a final get-together for the company at the Prince of Wales starting from 7.30 pm on Sunday evening.

"We hope as many members of Stagestruck can attend," said Christine. 'It would be great for us all to meet up again and reminisce about old times."
