Yes, it's true - Deep Joy are set to return to the stage.

One of West Wales' most popular groups in the 1970s and 1980s, they are reforming for a one-off charity event in November.

Rumours that the boys would be getting together again were confirmed this week. They will be taking to the stage at the Pater Hall, Pembroke Dock, on Friday November 25, with proceeds going to the Air Ambulance.

It is just over 18 years since they played their final gig at the De Valence, Tenby, after completing another successful summer season at a local holiday park supporting the likes of Welsh personality Owen Money.

For their return, the members of Deep Joy from 20 years ago - Peter Burke, keyboards, Kelvin Thomas, drums, John Butland, rhythm guitar, and Brian Pratt, vocals - will be joined by bass guitarist Martin Hill. The event promises to be a sell-out judging by the initial reaction the boys have had.

Said Brian: "Many times we've been asked when we are getting back together - and here we are. We're all looking forward to it and can't believe where the time has gone in between."
