Staff at Clynderwen and Cardiganshire Farmers Ltd. (CCF Ltd.) have raised £4,000 for two charities over the summer period by walking the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path.
When CCF's marketing manager Karen Bevan mentioned walking for charity earlier this year, the decision to walk the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path was an ideal choice. Taking their holiday entitlement and walking on weekends the group, which included staff, customers and suppliers took just 14 days to complete the path.
For many of the group, walking was not in their vocabulary and there were many blisters and aching muscles to begin with. But, knowing that the reason for the pain was to raise money for 'Make a Wish Foundation' and the 'Noah's Ark Appeal' they kept going.
Karen Bevan says: "Our initial target was to raise £1,000 for the chosen charities and it has been fantastic to exceed the target by so much. It is thanks to all our customers, suppliers and friends that we have raised such a lot of money. It was hard going at times but with the help of our support staff we managed it. Pembrokeshire has some of the finest coastal scenery in Wales, and everyone, even the friends and associates who spent just one day with us agreed that their eyes had been opened to the beauty of the area."
The monies were presented to 'Make a Wish' and the 'Noah's Ark Appeal' at a presentation in the Fishguard Arms, Haverfordwest.
