A group of Pembroke Dock employees got to know their neighbourhood recently as part of a Safe Routes in Communities initiative.
Staff from South Pembrokeshire Hospital and the National Park Authority - whose headquarters is in Pembroke Dock - were shown around the town's former Royal Naval dockyard by David James, of West Wales Maritime Heritage.
The guided walk was organised by Pembrokeshire County Council's transportation department, which is putting together a Safe Routes in Communities bid for the town.
"Any moves to encourage people to walk or cycle more in their communities - in particular children travelling to and from school - are to be welcomed," said Clr. Rob Lewis, cabinet member for highways and transportation.
"As well as improving people's health, such moves also benefit the environment and reduce traffic congestion."
