Children at St. Oswalds Church in Wales VA School have scooped a £100 voucher for gardening equipment and materials, in a competition run by Murco Milford Haven Refinery.
The refinery presented the Vincent Davies and Son Ltd. voucher to the school this week for winning an environment-themed quiz in the 'Grow it, Cook it, Eat it' initiative held recently at Scolton Manor.
Murco Milford Haven Refinery sponsored the gardening marquee - one of the five activities at the event - where pupils enjoyed a practical workshop with horticulturalist Phil Triebel, learning how food is grown and planting their own herb to cultivate at home.
All schools had the opportunity to enter the quiz. The names of pupils who answered all the questions correctly were drawn at random, and the winner was Jodie Cole, of St. Oswalds School.
'Grow it, Cook it, Eat it' is held annually, and teaches local nine to 11-year-olds all about how food is produced - from farm to fork - and the importance of healthy eating.
Nearly 1,200 children from 37 primary schools took part in this year's event, which was organised by Pemborkeshire County Council and sponsored by the Welsh Assembly Government, Murco Milford Haven Refinery, and Barclays Bank.
