The wonderful story of the nativity was delightfully performed last Sunday by the children of St. Mary's Church Sunday Club, Tenby.
Under the direction of their leader, Nan Dowell, the children charmed the congregation with their individual take on the world's favourite chronicle of the journey to Bethlehem and the amazing event which followed.
The ages of the talented actors ranged from a few weeks (the baby Jesus) to very elderly performers of eleven years plus!
The magnificent costumes and splendid singing were all joyous to behold.
The story of the harassed innkeepers Elizabeth and her down-trodden husband Isaac and their experiences with the holy family were brought to life by the enthusiasm of the performers.
The wonder of the birth of Jesus never fails to kindle in us all the memories of our own childhood and the anticipation experienced by each of us as the special day approaches.
The narration of events was expertly undertaken by Sunday Club assistant leader Heidi Griffiths.
Revd. Michael John thanked everyone for again bringing to the congregation the awe and wonder of the nativity and for reminding us of the true meaning of Christmas, upon which we should all focus.
