The afternoon meeting was opened by the secretary, Mrs. Jan John. Mrs. Mary Penson read the collect and the lesson. Mrs. John welcomed the visiting guest speaker, Mrs. Diane Martin from Haverfordwest, who represents the Mothers' Union Enterprises for the Archdeaconry of St. David's Diocese. Diane exhibited calendars, seasonal and anniversary cards, pens and associated merchandise relative to the Mothers' Union. Her talk was both interesting and informative to all the members, many of whom took advantage of the opportunity by buying products on display. The vote of thanks was given by Mrs. Rhiannon Bridges and refreshments were prepared and served by Mrs. Pat Davies, Mrs. Janet Parsons, Mrs. Pat Matthews and Mrs. Gwyneth Preston. Mrs. Ellen Jenkins, the enrolling member, closed the proceedings. The occasion was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 26, at 7 pm, and the guest speaker will be Mrs. Ann Griffiths, who will demonstrate the art of sugarcraft.
