On Sunday, the members of the church choir at St Mary’s gathered, after the morning service, at The Giltar Hotel for the first choir lunch in what seemed like a very long time.
It had been an annual event prior to the pandemic.
All were there except for Paul, who is relaxing in Lanzarotte and hopefully getting his strength back after an illness. All the choristers were sorry that he was missing. The choir’s youngest member, Gabriel, is pictured in the back row between his parents, Mark and Lucy. Gabriel lowers the average age of the members considerably.
As always, the lunch was superb and enjoyed by all. The staff at The Giltar are excellent at making things run smoothly and accommodating all their guests. Thanks are due to chorister Susie who had the unenviable task of making sure that everybody’s order was correct - which it was!
The choir is now preparing music for the Easter services. They meet on Thursday evenings at 5pm and would be glad to hear of any prospective new members.
