Among matters discussed at a recent meeting of St. Mary Out Liberty Community Council were the following:
Planning applications Single storey extension to kitchen and lounge, Hazelwood, Broadfield Hill, Saundersfoot - after a detailed discussion, it was agreed that council had no objection to the application being approved.
Appeals
Radio Becca - after careful consideration, it was agreed to note this appeal only. County Clr. Jon Preston's report Swallow Tree Woods - I have recently been involved in some work regarding developments at Swallow Tree Woods. I am particularly concerned that this area of natural beauty may be in danger of becoming over-developed and I would like to bring this to the attention of the community council. At present, the roads have yet to be adopted and have become damaged due to quite regular heavy traffic. I have yet to gain confirmation as to who financed and installed the street lighting. Pembrokeshire County Council and Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority claim they have no responsibility for the maintenance of the pathways which enable home owners to access their properties, yet there appears to be a public right of way. Some of this area crosses onto Saundersfoot ward and I will be working with County Clr. Phil Baker and County Clr. Mike Williams, who is an elected member of PCNPA, with a view to agreeing a way forward . Hunters Park road surface: As requested by the clerk to the community council, I have contacted Mr. Codd and enquired as to a forecast date to repair the dip in the road. Mr. Codd has informed me that the road damage has been passed on to the streetcare department due to its close proximity to the underground sewer system. I have since contacted the officer responsible for highways at Pembrokeshire County Council requesting a speedy resolution to this matter. Boundary review: I have been advised via the electoral services office manager that the proposed boundary changes implementation has been suspended. This is a quite recent development and I will make further enquiries over the coming weeks, particularly regarding the costs involved in the administration and the production of this seemingly failed proposal.
Village matters
Dog fouling: This matter was still a problem throughout the village. The clerk was requested to contact the dog warden again to seek their assistance . Litter within the village: There did not appear to be a great problem at the present time. It was agreed to continue to monitor the situation. Repositioning the bin near the bus shelter opposite Cross Park: The clerk advised that this was still in the hands of Pembrokeshire County Council. Dip in the carriageway near to New Hedges Tavern: The clerk had now asked County Clr. Mr. J. Preston to assist with this matter. Street light, Cross Park: The clerk had reported the damage. Clr. Mrs Leyshon reported that the light was now faulty most of the time. The clerk would contact Pembrokeshire County Council again. Sign near the entrance to Waterwynch: This sign was a private matter for the owners to attend. Refuse at the Sundowner: No further problems to report. Any other business
Clr. Howard Rawson Humphries reported several street lights that were faulty, and also conveyed a request from a resident in Lake Drive who had requested that the street light timing be amended. County Clr. J. Preston advised that this was difficult because of the manner in which they were connected. He also conveyed a request for the PCSO to attend a future meeting. It was agreed that it was best to defer for a month due to the fact that the next meeting was the annual general meeting. Clr. D. Brace enquired if council could become involved in a bulb planting exercise at the appropriate time. It was agreed to place this matter on a future agenda. The next meeting of council, the annual general meeting, will be Tuesday, May 14, at 6.30 pm.
