The annual general meeting of St. Mary Out Liberty Community Council was held recently, when the following matters were discussed.

The chairman opened the meeting and welcomed Mr. Johns, of Rowston Drive, who had requested to attend as an observer.

Retiring chairman, Clr. Mrs. L. Bonar, outlined the achievements of the past year. There had been some measure of progress during the year, but there also had been unfortunate occurrences.

Vice-chairman Clr. David Nash had not enjoyed good health for much of the year, but thankfully he was now returning to good health.

The chairman thanked county councillor Mrs. Cavill for her assistance during the year, and also her fellow councillors for their hard work and support.

On conclusion of her report, Mrs. Bonar vacated the chair for the election of a chairman for 2003-04. Clr. Mrs. Bonar was re-elected to the position, while Clr. Hall was elected vice-chairman.

Councillors Nash and Hall will serve as representatives on the Village Hall Management Committee, and Clr. Herrick will replace Clr. Evans as the representative on the Dyfed Powys Liaison Committee.

The chairman advised the meeting that Mr. John was experiencing some problems with a development in Rowston Drive. County councillor Mrs. Cavill had been actively attempting to resolve the problem. It was agreed that the clerk should write to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority to urge a settlement of the problem.

Council was surprised to receive a supplementary account from the auditors, and the clerk was requested to clarify the position.

It was agreed to make a donation to Urdd Gobaith Cymru.

Illegal signs were suddenly becoming a problem in and around the village. The clerk was requested to contact Pembrokeshire County Council.

Members were also concerned about the standard of service that was being provided by the grass cutting contractor. The clerk was requested to contact the contractor to achieve an improvement.

Council was advised that there was no progress to report over the footpath access to Waterwynch Beach.

The clerk advised that he had contacted the elections officer at Pembrokeshire County Council to inform him of the vacancy on the community council.

The next meeting will be on July 8, at 7.30 pm.
