On Sunday, the service at St. Johns was led by the Rev. Peter Noble, URC Moderator for Wales.
"It is good to be with you in Tenby on Trinity Sunday. I welcome you all in the name of Jesus," were his opening words.
The singing group, accompanied by Mrs. Sheila Noot, sang the Introit and Molly, of Junior Church, read the children's welcome.
In his talk to the young people, Rev. Peter Noble asked them to use their imagination. "What do you think God is like?" Trying to imagine God is no easy task. If we want to know what he is like, we can do no better than go to Jesus, for it is in Jesus that we know God's love and grace.
Before the young people left for their classes, they shared in a blessing.
Mrs. Melanie Walker read from Isaiah, chapter 6, verses 1-8, Paul's letter to the Romans, chapter 8, verses 12-17 and John, chapter 8, verses 1-17.
The congregation then sang the hymn, 'O thou who camest from above'.
"This is the Sunday to preach about God's grace and how he loves us," began the Rev. Peter Noble's address, which focused on the theme of love and our relationship with each other. "Relationships creating life as God intended." We are born into a world that dictates our lives, so often people are marginalised by their orientation. Jesus saw the problems that were caused by our differences and taught us to respect and love one another.
"What we are about in the church is that we care about the practice of relationships and that we love each other as God intended. Let us each have the fingerprint of God on our souls."
Holy Communion was then shared. "At this table everyone has a seat and that is a gift from God."
Concluding worship, the Rev. Peter Noble reminded us that on this Trinity Sunday we had celebrated love. "It has been a privilege to share bread and wine today," he said.
Thank you, Peter, for sharing with us.
The singing group sang the blessing and the Grace was said.
The service this Sunday at 11 am will be taken by the Rev. Nanette Lewis-Head. All are welcome to join in worship.
