Worship for Trinity Sunday was led by Rev. Nanette Lewis Head, who in her opening remarks said that the service would be celebrating God the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, the Trinity, a mystery, and within that mystery our worship would be one of adoration. To begin this celebration, the introit from the choir, with Mrs. Sheila Noot as organist, was Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty. The congregational reading was of Psalm 8 beginning 'O Lord our governor how glorious is your name in all the earth'. Before the talk to the children, Nanette congratulated Syd and Maddy on their success in the Pembrokeshire spirit swim and Amy, whose class from Saundersfoot School won a second prize in the Urdd Eisteddfod. There was applause for each of them from the congregation. Greetings were also shared with Maddy on her birthday. Mrs. Melanie Walker read from Proverbs 8, 1-4 and 23-31, and John 16, 12-15. Nanette had begun her talk with the young people with the question 'How do we describe God?' She continued to explore answers to this question in her sermon. It was something that the first Christians had to think about when they needed definitive words to speak of the glory of their God. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost. Three in one, the Trinity. Nanette read a modern translation of Psalm 8, a poem of praise to God and the glory of his creation. Nanette also spoke of the glory of God seen in his people, not only in works of art in many areas, but also in those who care for others and concluding, 'We should enjoy God's love and thank him for his blessings in our lives'. In prayers of intercession, preceding the celebration of Holy Communion, among those remembered were Mrs. Vi Cousins and Rev. Hamish McClaggan, well known to St. Johns members. Both are seriously ill at this time. Thank you, Nanette, for leading the service and to the choir, Sheila, Melanie and all who took part in worship. This Sunday's worship at 10.30 am, to which all are welcome, will again be led by Nanette.
