Rev. Nanette Lewis Head, leading worship on Sunday, thanked Lara for reading the opening sentences, before adding her own words of welcome.

Mr. Tony Scullard, reading the notices, passed on a message of thanks from Mrs. Margaret Day to all who had contributed, in any way, to the success of the Summer Bazaar, held last Wednesday. Nanette added her own thanks. A total of £1,000 was raised and is to be divided between church funds and Christian Aid. She also thanked those who had led the worship last Sunday.

The congregation read together Psalm 67, 'Let God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us.'

'Faith' was the theme for worship introduced through the talk to the children. This was centred upon the story of the woman of Cara, who came to Jesus asking him to help her sick child. Jesus said that 'she had faith'.

In Junior Church, after talking about the meaning of the story, the children made pictures with hearts on them and the caption 'Faith comes from the heart'. Mrs. Sonia Hurlow read from Genesis 45 1-15, 'Joseph tells his brothers who he is', and from Matthew 15 21-28, the story of the day's theme. The sermon explored the meaning of faith as revealed through this narrative.

Before the end of the service, Nanette expressed concern at the news of the imminent closure of Tenby Hospital and asked for prayerful consideration of this problem.

Worship closed with the grace and the final words of the blessing from the singing group, 'Go in peace, go in joy, go in love'.

Thank you to the group, to Mrs. Pat Stubbs as organist and to all who took part in the worship. Special thanks to Nanette, who will lead this Sunday at 10.30 am, when there will be a warm welcome to all.
