The call to worship followed by prayer began the service on Sunday, which was led by the minister, Rev. Nanette Lewis Head. The congregational reading was Psalm 67.

Following the welcome to the children, Nanette presented them with a certificate recognising the contributions to Christian Aid through money collected in Christingle Candle boxes. A special welcome back was given to Tiffany, who had been in hospital, and birthday greetings were shared with Elizabeth who celebrated her seventh birthday.

The children joined in reading letters from an eye chart like those used by opticians. Words from Elisha 'Lord open his eyes that he may see' were revealed when the chart was read from the top to bottom, instead of across. Encouragement was given that all should do this, to see God's world, God's people and their need for help and friendship.

Mrs. Gladys Gray read from John 51-18 'The Healing at the Pool.' The theme of the worship was 'Healing,' and this was the basis for the sermon. Nanette spoke of Christian healing being that of the whole person and of healing being linked to the church, a company of God's people joined together in love, seeking to walk in the footsteps of Jesus, so that he may lead us to those in need, loving and caring for the whole people of God.

This Sunday, February 25, at 10.30 am, worship will again be led by the minister. The highlight of the following week will be St. Johns' Daffodil Festival from March 1 - 4. Floral displays will be in church under the title 'A Celebration of Welsh Life.'
