The service last Sunday, Transfiguration, was led by the vicar, the Rev. Victor Millgate. The readings, Kings 2, 1-12, Paul's second letter to the Corinthians 4, 3-6, and Gospel according to St. Mark 9, 2-9 and the Psalm 50 v 1-6, Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving.

The sermon retold the story of Elijah taken to Heaven by the Lord and we were reminded, we do not proclaim ourselves, but we proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and ourselves as slaves for Jesus' sake. Remember it is God who said "Let light shine out of darkness".

We are reminded of the commencement of Lent this week on Ash Wednesday and during the time of Lent think very carefully of our commitment to God and all that it means.

Please note there will be no service at St. James' this Sunday, but we are all invited to the Benefice Holy Eucharist service at Carew Church, commencing at 10.30 am, when we shall be introduced to the new Prayer Books. Remember Sunday, March 1, St. David's Day, Carew Church.
