The service for the fifth Sunday after Trinity was led by the vicar, Rev. Victor Millgate. The first reading was from the book of the prophet Jeremiah 20, 7-13, the second reading was from the letter of Paul to the Romans 6, 1b-11 and the Gospel was from Matthew 10, 24-39. The sermon told us that nothing covered up will not be uncovered, and nothing secret that will not become known. Do not fear for those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul, but fear him who can kill the body and soul in hell. Whoever does not take up the cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Those who find their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will find it. Please note, this Sunday, June 29, there will be a united service at Redberth which will include St. James and St. Florence Churches and will commence at 10.30 am. We look forward to seeing you.
