Last Sunday evening, a large congregation enjoyed the Advent carol service, when many traditional carols were sung and the nine lessons read. The choir also sang several beautiful pieces of music. Thanks go to the choir and the organist, John Greenish, who made the occasion so enjoyable, and especial thanks to Rowan Griffiths, who sang the delightful solo 'Suair Groynt' by Hadyn Morris, and also to the flautist, who we all know as 'Pud', who enriched the service with her playing. The ninth lesson was read by the Rev. Robin Webley, who also led the prayers and gave the blessing. Members are grateful to the Rev. Webley, who continues deputising for their vicar in his absence. The service this Sunday, December 23, is a United Parish Holy Eucharist at St. James at 10.30 am. On Christmas Eve, December 24, there will be a celebration of Holy Eucharist at St. Florence Church at 9 pm and the Christ Mass at St. James Church, Manorbier, at 11.30 pm. A warm welcome is extended to all to come and celebrate this Christmas.
